Bio

Mike was born and raised in the heart of Cajun Country and honed his drumming skills playing the diverse Acadiana bar, dance hall, and club scene with a variety of popular bands during the 70s, 80s, and 90s.  His drumming style draws from all of his influences including Rock, Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Blues, Classic Country, Modern Country, Honky Tonk, Cajun, Cajun Rock, Swamp Pop, Progressive Rock, Alternative Rock, Punk Rock, and the classic dance songs of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s.

With over forty years of playing experience and thousands of gigs under his belt, Mike is comfortable in just about any setting from small bars and restaurants, to medium clubs, to large venues and outdoor festivals.  Whatever the gig, he knows that the song comes first and this means laying down a solid “in the pocket” groove and playing what is appropriate for any given style.  His mottoes are “Play for the song” and  “Make the people dance”.

Since 2003 Mike has played the Baton Rouge area music scene with a variety of talented bands and musicians, immersing himself in some of the best Blues, Variety, Rock, Country, and Swamp Pop that the region has to offer.
