Gear
Mike has played Ludwig drums exclusively since 1978. He considers it a privilege to be associated with an American drum company whose heritage dates back to 1909 and whose products have been at the forefront of every major musical era since. He appreciates the look, sound, and feel of Ludwig drums, especially the Classic Maple series which he’s played since 2003.
Mike plays Zildjian cymbals and Wuhan/Sabian effects cymbals, his hardware and pedals are a mixture of Yamaha and DW, and his cases are Humes and Berg.
Snare Drums
Mike’s snare drum preference is maple, aluminum, and brass in the 5″ depth. He believes these to be the most versatile and are the ones he finds himself taking to gigs most of the time. He also likes to use the 6.5″ depth for the heavier stuff.
